Lots of people might be offering you advice right now. Give up alcohol. Go on a diet. Get your life goals sorted out. Do plenty of exercise (even if the gyms are all shut and it’s freezing outside!). Stay away from people and avoid going out. That’s all good, healthy advice.
But I think you should use this depressing month to tackle the things you hate to do. Some people call this ‘kissing the frog’. Why? Well, once you’ve kissed it you can do so many other things with a virtuous feeling of accomplishment.
What are the areas you are weak in and know you should improve? Every year you put them off and constantly have that nagging voice telling you you’re missing opportunities. Perhaps you see others are improving and you are starting to lag behind.
Technology is one area I know many people hate and often this is because they feel it has raced beyond them. They say, “It’s too complicated now, so I can stay in my comfort zone with what I learned years ago and get my kids or younger colleagues to help if I get stuck.” Well, what if you ‘kissed the frog’ and learned about a field of technology? Artificial intelligence; 3D scanning and printing; gaming; virtual reality?
There are other fields like writing or public speaking where you might think you *can’t* while actually – with a little help and application – you can and you will.
That’s one reason why I offer 10 courses in the Talk Yourself Up Power Method. Taking the whole programme is hugely powerful and transformational for your life and career. But… you can take just a single course with our full coaching support. So why not choose the one you think you hate?
